Backplate
The Backplate is a 9mm PET Felt panel placed behind the Rail System. According to Peutz bv's independent acoustic report, this increases sound absorption from αw 0.45 (Rail System standalone, on a 10mm air gap) to αw 0.55 (Rail System with Backplate + 10mm air gap).
PET Felt
PET Felt is made from recycled plastic bottles, ground into fibres and pressed into dense, durable panels. The porous structure absorbs and scatters sound effectively, reducing reverberation and echo in busy spaces.
